Linda Groppo

Linda has always been a strong believer in Winsted. She grew up in Winsted; attending St. Anthony School and the Gilbert School.


Linda returned to our town in 2014. She is retired from the State of Connecticut, Office of the Attorney General. Linda has two daughters and three grandsons.


She is the oldest daughter of John G. Groppo who served as Winsted Mayor from 1965-1967 and elected State Representative for the 63rd District from 1959-1985.

Linda was elected to the Board of Selectmen in 2017.

Jack Bourque

for Board of Selectmen

Jack is seeking his 4th term on the Board of Selectmen.


He is a member of the Selectmen’s Finance Committee, a liaison to the Planning and Zoning Commission, a liaison to Zoning Board of Appeals and a liaison to Friends of

Main Street. He has served on the Soldiers’ Monument Commission for more than 30 years and currently is its chairman.


He and his wife Pat have lived in town since 1969 and raised four children in the public school system.

Candy Perez

for Board of Selectmen

Candy has been elected to nine terms on the Board of Selectmen serving as Winsted’s Mayor for 2009 to 2011 and again from 2015 to present.


She is a strong voice of leadership on the Board of Selectmen ensuring that both BOS Democrats and Republicans are included on committees and in the decision-making process. She is concerned with sustainable municipal budgets and ensuring we meet the service needs of the entire community.

She is currently spearheading the ordinance updating process and infrastructure improvement committee.

Steven Sedlack

for Board of Selectmen

A lifelong resident of Winsted, Steve has served on the Board of Selectmen since 2013.


He has long been involved in civic affairs beginning with Assistant Cub Master, CCD teacher, member and Chairman of Winchester Board of Education, member of the Planning and Zoning Commission and currently Chairman of the W. L. Gilbert School Corporation.


He is entering his 57th year in public and private education as a teacher, administrator, board member and supervisor of student teachers.

Nicholas "Nick" Teeling

for Board of Selectmen

Nick is a 25-year-old college student, activist and former bartender who has lived his whole life in Winsted. He is a proud product of public schools.


Nick served as an intern for the United States Senate and served as a legislative aide in the CT State Senate. Nick has also worked on campaigns for local and state leaders focused on lowering the costs of living for working people, lowering the cost of healthcare and protecting our environment.


Nick is currently enrolled at Central Connecticut State University where he is studying public administration.
